Didapro 10

Since 1988, the (French-speaking) symposia on the didactics of informatics, which afterwards became the Didapro - DidaSTIC symposia, have been exploring themes dedicated to the teaching and learning of informatics. The tenth edition of Didapro, which will be organised by the computer science engineering pole of the Université catholique de Louvain, will take place during three days, from January 30 to February 1, 2024. The conference will be open not only to researchers, but also to all teachers interested in the themes of the conference. Even though the symposium will be held mostly in French, the first day of the symposium, dedicated to young researchers, will be organised in English.

Young researchers day – Tuesday 30/01

On the first day, this year's Didapro 10 symposium will host an English-speaking PhD symposium. This young doctoral researchers' day will offer young researchers the possibility to present their ongoing research projects and ideas, and support them in the form of exchanges with a mentor and the other participants. In the afternoon, they can present their work as a poster to a larger audience at the conference. There will be mentors and other young doctoral students from the international community surrounding Belgium, along with an English-speaking keynote speaker. The registration fee will be kept low for doctoral researchers and include the conference banquet at the end of the day. It will be a great opportunity for young PhD researchers interested in computer science education to share their research ideas, meet people working on similar topics and get an outside perspective.

Scientific symposium – from Tuesday 30/01 pm to Thursday 01/02 am

The afternoon of the first day, the second day and the morning of the third day will be devoted to the scientific symposium. The programme will include keynote talks, scientific presentations, posters, a round table, a gala dinner, and more. The second and third day of the symposium will only be organised in French.

Teachers' day – Thursday 01/02

The third day (Thursday February 1), dedicated to teachers, will combine the scientific conference in the morning with a series of workshops in the afternoon focusing on issues more specific to primary and secondary school teachers. This day will (undoubtedly) be recognised as an in-service training day for teachers. For more information on the workshops, consult the programme (available soon). This day will be organised in French only.

Themes of the symposium

The Didapro symposium addresses different themes around the topics of pedagogy of informatics and ICT, such as (but not limited to):

  • Course contents and curricula
  • Teaching strategies
  • Resources and tools for exercices and evaluation
  • Training of teachers and educators
